Day 4: More temples and the Suitcase Crisis.
On the last day, we went to the flower market (very cheap flowers!) and we saw a couple of arches and another touristy area with shops and interesting streets, and the Yuantong temple. There are lucky pots outside the temple. It's kind of like the Kunming Wong Tai Sin Temple - lots of locals actually worshipping - but there are lots of buddhas and I had no idea what was happening...heh. After the Yuantong temple, we had lunch, and took the plane back to Hong Kong. It was delayed and I sat in the waiting hall for an hour (and fell asleep...). The meal on the way back was much better (perhaps because I was hungry) but a little suspicious. The plane ride back was quite uneventful. At Hong Kong International Airport, we (well, I, actually, but my parents didn't check it either) accidentally got the wrong suitcase which looked exactly like ours, and wasted an hour fussing around and exchanging back our suitcase. The last photo on my CF card before it got full was this - how ironic.
The trip, on the whole, was quite good. At least it took my mind off schoolwork (which may not be a good thing...!). It wasn't as fun as some other trips, but for the standard China middle-of-nowhere, it was better than I expected. I got a little sunburnt (due to the high altitude and the inverse square law). But I had fun. And now I have really learnt to appreciate Hong Kong and its food - ahh, I never knew I was so fortunate, food-wise...
